At Lion Cub Academy, we are committed to providing a safe, nurturing, creative, fun, clean, educational Christian environment for children. Along with educational basics, children are taught life-skills, manners, and values to apply as they grow through their formative years and beyond. In each of our classrooms, you will always see enjoyable developmentally appropriate lesson plans posted.

Infants

The Lion Cub Academy nursery room serves children ages 12 weeks to 12 months.

Your baby will receive personalized care. Our Infant rooms are designed with safety, comfort, low noise and low stress in mind. Allowing a group size of only 4 infants/teacher in a class room, the noise level is low providing a calm environment for your child. We also provide nurturing stimulation when your baby is awake and alert, to promote essential development. Babies play, listen to stories, and interact with their teachers. They are only placed in their cribs at nap time or to ensure their safety.

Lion Cub Academy Infant teachers provide multiple activities throughout the day to promote physical and mental development. The milestones your baby reaches while in our infant program will insure success once your child graduates to our toddler program.

• Physical stimulation: Young babies are developing at a very rapid pace at this stage. We introduce activities to help build and fine-tune basic motor functions. Simple activities such as offering objects at a distance are introduced to enhance movement in small and large muscle groups and promote concentration skills.

• Intellectual stimulation: Through verbal exchanges, playing music, and making various noises, we guide your infant to explore the size, shape, color, texture, movement, position, and sound of different objects. We also assist bottle holding, picking up small objects, and learning to crawl and walk.

• Social development: Through interaction with familiar people babies receive reassurance and nurturing at all times. Our caregivers offer gentle touch and a calm voice.

 

 

Daily Logs
We want to make sure you know all about your child’s day. Our teachers keep track of your child's feedings, diaper changes, naps, activities, as well as their disposition on a daily report. You will receive this daily report though our App. Click the link and enter your information to keep up with the day to day events for your child.

Infant care Instructions
You will receive a form each month to write down your child’s schedule. Information on this form includes times for bottles/milk, nap times, and the types of food your child can have. A blank form will be sent home at the beginning of each month for you to complete and will be placed in the infant room where it is visible to all teachers.
 

Cleaning and Sanitizing
We have incorporated a strict protocol to ensure a clean environment.
We assign each child their very own crib. Your child’s crib will never be used by another child and is sanitized daily. In addition to daily cleaning, sheets are also washed daily. Teachers have extra sets of sheets in the event they become soiled. Changing tables are cleaned and disinfected after each diaper change. Play mats and toys are disinfected after each use. Teachers wash their hands and each infant’s hands before and after meals, after outside time, and after diaper changes. In addition to area cleanings during the day, the infant room is thoroughly cleaned every night.

Toddlers

Our toddler room is designed with safety, comfort, and low stress in mind. We have low ratios that allow our teachers to engage in group learning and provide each child ample one on one time. Toddlers are walking, running and starting to explore the world around them.  They also enjoy our outside playground (weather permitting)!

 

At Lion Cub Academy we have passion for education. Our trained teachers will help stimulate the development and creativity of your child in a variety of ways…

Physical Development: 
Very young children develop at a fast pace and require gross motor activities to help build and fine-tune their motor function. We offer multiple developmental activities for our toddlers. Before graduating to our early preschool program your toddler will master running, eating using a spoon, grasping objects, and using their finger to thumb motion to pick up small items.  Your child will also graduate from a bottle to a regular open top cup.

Intellectual Stimulation: 
Through verbal exchanges, singing songs, playing music, and imitating sounds we encourage your toddler to explore the world around them. We also encourage exploring objects of varying size, shape, color, texture, and sound.

Social Development:
By interacting with familiar people and each other, toddlers at Lion Cub Academy will receive reassurance and nurturing at all times. Our caregivers offer a gentle touch and a calm voice while encouraging friendly play. You will notice your child’s vocabulary increase from 5-10 words to around 100 words.
 

Artistic Logistics.
Encouraging the natural abilities and talents within each child is one way Lion Cub Academy helps your child become well-rounded. Drawing, music, and dance encourage self-expression and enrich the classroom experience.

Art Work

At Lion Cub Academy we encourage creativity! Our toddler teachers will provide your child with the opportunity to create masterpieces using crayons and tempera paint. Our art supplies are all non-toxic and safe for your child to use. In addition to free art our teachers will send home seasonal art, and hand and foot print art!

 Cleaning and Sanitizing Better Hygiene

We have incorporated a strict protocol to ensure a clean, healthy environment:

• Dedicated Cots. We guarantee a dedicated cot for your toddler; this will be labeled with his or her name on the cot.

• Cots are disinfected on a regular basis.

• Changing tables are cleaned and disinfected after each diaper change.

• Play mats and toys are disinfected after each use.

• Toilets are cleaned each night.

• All toys are either washed or disinfected at the end of each day.

• Teachers wash their hands and each toddler’s hands before and after meals, after outside time, and after diaper changes. After each diaper change or potty attempt and feedings the child’s hands will be washed with soap and water.

• Nightly Cleaning. In addition to area cleanings during the day, the room is thoroughly cleaned every night.
